STUNNING DESIGN REVEALED IN CUSTOM HOME BUILDER BATTLE OF THE SHEDS

Rotelle Studio(e) He Shed Online Auction and Online She Shed Raffle Ends Oct. 7.

SOUTH COVENTRY, Pa. – Sept. 27, 2018 – This summer, the men and women of eastern Pennsylvania custom home builder Rotelle Studio(e)(row-TELL-ee) duked it out in the backyard in the ultimate battle of the sheds. The He vs. She Shed Shindig design competition incorporated creative, chic design, social engagement, celebrity power, and a video series that chronicled the competition over the summer weeks.

On Saturday, Sept. 15, the shed battle came to an exciting head when the Rotelle teams, with the help of Ty Pennington, of “Trading Spaces” and “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” fame, revealed their stunning sheds to an assembled crowd of more than 450 attendees during the Studio(e)’s second annual Dream BIG Custom Home Event. The event kicked off the online voting for the winning shed, which ends on Oct. 7. Voters are automatically entered into a raffle, and a lucky winner will take home the She Shed. The He Shed is being auctioned off online and bidders have until Oct. 7, to enter their bid to take home the ultimate backyard man cave. All proceeds from the auction benefit Ashley Addiction Treatment, which has served more than 45,000 patients and their families from across the country since its founding in 1983, including thousands from the Philadelphia region.

The He vs. She Shed Shindig was inspired by the growing popularity of tiny houses and the reimagined shed as the new backyard getaway. The competition not only showcased the custom home builder’s expertise and creative design talents, but proved to be a team building exercise that brought Rotelle staff closer together.

The He Shed

The Rotelle Studio(e) He Shed men’s team was led by President and Owner, Peter Rotelle, and included Chief Operating Officer, Anthony Holowsko; and Senior Project Manager, Ken Zimmerman. Using raw lumber the men constructed the ultimate backyard man cave and incorporated, as Peter Rotelle said, “off the hook” design elements that included a back wall that drops to create a deck, a glass garage door, an elevated dog bed, repurposed antique finds – like an old gas pump converted into a faucet, a wall lighting fixture made from the headlights and grille of an old Ford pickup truck, and a tool chest repurposed as a coffee and bar station, to name a few of the ingenious design touches.

The He Shed is up on the auction block in support of Ashley Addiction Treatment now through Oct. 7. Anyone interested in bidding on the He Shed in the national online auction can visit www.rotelle.com’s homepage. The starting bid was $5000.

The She Shed

The Rotelle Studio(e) She Shed women’s team was led by Chief Designer, Renée Pratt, and included Chief Architect, Heather Ryan; and Design Consultant, Emily Wisler. The She Shed’s signature wow factor is a retractable roof that opens up to allow lots of light and air into the chicly designed space, and when open provides cover over a side deck. Clever built-ins allow for discreet wall storage, and the serving counter hides a cooler. Completing the She Shed is a hammock-like day bed suspended from a sturdy crossbeam.

The She Shed will be given away to a lucky winner in an online raffle, open to Pennsylvania residents only, who participates in the online voting ongoing through Oct. 7. Anyone interested in winning the She Shed can cast their vote by visiting Rotelle Studio(e)’s website www.rotelle.com.
