Dynamic Design at Stone Radius
The custom residence by Drewett Works features curved architectural elements and not a single straight wall

Established in 2015 in the desert town of Scottsdale, Arizona, architectural firm Drewett Works (DW) specializes in the upper end of both residential and end-user commercial building
projects. DW’s footprint spans across the country and internationally. It currently has projects on the boards in Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Iowa, Massachusetts, Nevada, Texas, Loreto, Mexico and the Chilean Bay Golf and Beach Club in Los Cabos, Mexico.
One DW project that stands out is that of Stone Radius, a custom home located in the newly-developed enclave of Paradise Valley, Arizona. The community features 11 high-end homes that are independently gated. All of the builds were designed by C.P. Drewett of DW, built by Rich Brock of Bedbrock Developers and finished by Claire Ownby of Ownby Design. The build is a 6,700-sq. ft., Palm Springs-inspired modern luxury estate and recently won three Gold Nugget Awards of Merit.
The most distinctive feature of Stone Radius is its curved architecture. One of the challenges was framing the house on a radius and pulling radius benchmarks from the center of the cul-de-sac, demanding a high level of precision.
“Not a single wall in the house is straight. Because it sits in the center of a cul-de-sac, the house was built on an axis creating softly curved walls,” said DW President and Founder C.P. Drewett. “Overall, the design is big, bold and gutsy.”
In the interior is a soft, warm neutral palette that serves as the backdrop for the homeowners’ art collection.
Another unique characteristic of the home is the massive textured Turkish limestone walls that go from outside to inside, with the
house mimicking the radius of a cul-de-sac. The home implements clerestory windows and high-alder ceilings to keep the open-concept public spaces light and bright. The home also boasts a detached casita which houses a private gym, a guest suite and an entry gate, which was designed by Drewett’s son.
Stone Radius was designed for “sophisticated entertainers.” The home includes a wine room that allows homeowners to display wine bottles, using the bottles as an artistic element. The room is refrigerated and also incorporates a countertop and cabinetry that double as an area for food prep and storage.
Additionally, there are large, open public areas that allow for entertaining. There are also doors that pocket open to the outdoors where there is a pool with a linear fire feature running the length of the pool.
As DW continues to solidify its name in the luxury building business, Drewett continues to take pride in the effort and detail that
goes into each project. Having grown up working alongside his father building furniture and remodeling homes, Drewett says he has taken in the experience to expand his business even further.
“My entire life I have been a student of detail, art and construction,” says Drewett. “I am blessed beyond words to have a career driven by my passions and even more blessed to be recognized by my peers for my work.”
